Greek-American new age musician Yanni has made his name playing in exotic locations around the globe.
He’s held concerts at India’s Taj Mahal, China’s Forbidden City, the United Arab Emirates’ Burj Khalifa,Russia’s Kremlin, Lebanon’s ancient city of Byblos, Tunisia’s Roman Theatre of Carthage, among many others.
So when he announced that he would be staging a sound and light show at Egypt’s Giza Pyramids, fans tweeted their support and delighted on Twitter.
Tickets of the concerts were made available on Ticketsmarche.com in four categories: Gold, Silver, Red free and Blue free for 3,000, 2,000, 1,000 and 600 EGP.
Excitement quickly turned to shock on learning the cost of the tickets, and fans took to twitter to express their disappointment.
Yanni has had fifteen number one albums on the Billboard New Age charts, and had the rare honor of being the first Western artist to be invited to adopt a giant panda bear cub at the Chengdu Research Base for Giant Panda Breeding in China!
C’mon, Yanni, you’re a good guy and don’t need the money – howz about a discount for your Egyptian fans, eh?
